Architectural Technologist
Matthew Schmid Architecture is a boutique architecture firm based in Niagara Falls, Ontario that specializes in residential, commercial and cultural architecture. We leverage the latest computational design techniques to develop forward looking projects that minimize their impact on the environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual who shares our passion for architecture, design and construction.
Qualifications
- Architectural Technician / Technology diploma
- Strong design sense
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience
- Proficient in Revit
- Strong detailing knowledge
- Good understanding of the Ontario building code
- Good understanding of building science
- Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
- Strong interpersonal skills, must work well in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and dedication to craft
- Great attention to detail
- Timely project completion
Additional Qualifications: (preferred, not required)
- Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Rhino Inside Revit
- Experience using Twinmotion for VR walkthroughs, animations etc.
- Knowledge of Vray
- Passive House Designer Certification
- Drone Pilot License
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance the project design as you move from schematic through construction documentation
- Build Revit models and develop drawings throughout the design and documentation phases
- Participate in design discussions
- Problem solve challenging design details
- Develop 3D models for VR walkthroughs (no previous experience necessary)
- Coordinate with consultants
- Perform construction administration:
- Site reviews
- Shop drawing review
- Specifications
- Site Instructions
- Assist in the development and refinement of BIM standards and resources
Details:
- Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with some flexibility

- Hybrid remote and in office work available, minimum 3 days per week in office when office is open.
